Winning Dinner Parties with Deliciously Inclusive Menus

The great thing about this dessert is that you can use whatever fruit is in season or whatever fruit is your favorite. I wouldn’t use bananas, though, as they tend to get mushy and may turn brown.

Bowl of fruit salad.

I usually serve this as shown, but feel free to offer whipped cream or vanilla ice cream as an option. Due to the abundance of fruit juice and alcohol, it would be good served over angel food cake as well!

An Italian version of fruit salad. This is pretty sweet and while I don't prefer alcohol in my fruit, most of my family just loves this recipe, so I've included it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pineapple
  • 2 peaches
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 pint raspberries
  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup white wine

Instructions

  • Cut all fruit into bite-sized cubes or pieces and place in large bowl.
  • Add lemon juice, wine and sugar. Mix well and let stand for at least an hour for the juices to mix.

Notes

Obviously, you can add or omit fruit as desired by preference. This makes a pretty soupy dish, so serve with a spoon. It can sit for a long time, so feel free to make this even a day ahead of time.
